Meet Fabiola
Practice Philosophy
I am deeply passionate about helping individuals flourish and achieve fulfillment within themselves and in their relationships. I believe that we are all capable of healing and becoming the best versions of ourselves while tackling the many hurdles and challenges that life throws our way. When working with clients, I believe in supporting them through an authentic and collaborative approach, in a safe, comfortable, and healing space.
I believe that we are all a combination of our childhoods, cultures, backgrounds, relationships, and unique different life challenges and circumstances. And while all of these have inevitably shaped us, we are in control of redesigning our future lives and achieving fulfillment. I am passionate about supporting my clients as they redefine the meaning of their past stories and experiences, and empowering them as they write the pages of their future ones.
Specialties
Children (Ages 6-12)
Some of the common issues that children may face in therapy include difficulties with emotional regulation, social skills, and self-esteem. I work with children to help them develop coping skills, problem-solving strategies, and healthy communication patterns. In addition to working directly with children, I also collaborate with parents and caregivers as needed to provide support and guidance on how to best support their child's mental health and wellbeing. I believe that by working together as a team when needed, we can help children overcome their challenges and build the skills and resilience they need to thrive.
Teens Therapy
As a teen therapist, I provide a safe and supportive environment for adolescents to explore their thoughts and emotions. Adolescence is a complex and challenging time, and it is common for teens to experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and other mental health challenges. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping teens develop the skills and resilience they need to navigate the challenges of adolescence and transition successfully into adulthood. Every teen has the potential to lead a happy, fulfilling life, and I am committed to helping them achieve that goal. This period is even more difficult lately in an ever-connected world where social pressures are more ever-present than ever before. As adolescents begin to seek identity for themselves, as well as their place in society and among their peers, my hope is to give them the necessary tools to explore who it is they aspire to be and how to best achieve that goal.
Millennials – Young Adults
I help young adults navigate the many challenges of this stage of life. Millennials face a wide range of pressures and stresses, including career uncertainty, financial instability, social media overload, and the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. My approach to millennial therapy is focused on building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, one that is founded on trust, empathy, and authenticity. I believe in working collaboratively with young adults to identify their strengths and areas of concern, and to develop personalized goals that meet their unique needs.
Parenting /Co-Parenting Therapy Sessions
I am passionate about helping parents develop strong and positive relationships with their children and teens. I recognize that being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging, and it is normal to experience stress, frustration, and uncertainty along the way. My approach to parenting therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and evidence-based techniques. I work collaboratively with parents to understand their unique experiences and challenges, and to develop practical strategies that work for their family.
Women's Issues
I also specializing in treating issues women face in our society that leads to insecurities, body image issues and lack of self-love. The pressures and expectations that society has historically forced on us women are unmeasurable and apply often to all facets of our lives. I am passionate about helping my clients discover and identify how these issues may be affecting their thoughts and feelings regarding what it means to be a woman in today’s world. Through a collaborative and non-judgmental approach, I aim to create a safe space where I help women reframe the unique lens in which they are experiencing their self-identity, body image, self-esteem, and expected roles to improve their quality of life.
Couples and Relationship Therapy
I believe that strong and healthy relationships are built on a foundation of trust and commitment. These essential qualities can fluctuate over time, and it is important to address any changes before they become problematic. Through a collaborative process, I help couples identify and work through their challenges, develop practical skills to improve communication, and deepen their emotional connection. I have trained in the Gottman Method to provide the couples that work with me with evidence-based techniques. My goal is to empower couples with the tools and insights they need to maintain a healthy and fulfilling relationship over the long term.
Anxiety Healing
My approach to anxiety healing is grounded in empathy, compassion, and evidence-based techniques. I work collaboratively with my clients to understand their unique experiences and challenges, and to develop practical strategies that work for them. Through therapy, I help my clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to their anxiety. I also assist them in developing practical skills and coping mechanisms to manage their symptoms and build resilience.
LGBTQ+
While I believe that living an authentic and honest life is key to personal fulfillment, I also understand the unique ways that society has, and continues to, make this particularly difficult for those members of the LGBTQ+ Community. It is my goal as a therapist to create a safe and non-shameful space where all my client's unique identities and needs feel seen, heard, valued, and celebrated. A space where I meet my clients where they are at. One where I support and accompany them through their unique journeys of self-discovery and self-appreciation, and all the diverse challenges that these journeys may bring.
Background
Born and raised in Venezuela, I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I moved to Miami in 2013 to pursue my Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Human and Social Development at the University of Miami. Post-graduation, I confirmed my passion for psychology and therapy by working for multiple years in the field of eating disorders.
This complex field where clients are often struggling with multiple psychological, physical, and relational challenges, made my desire to become a therapist exponentially grow.
To accomplish this, I returned to The University of Miami, where I earned my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. While completing my Master’s, I also worked as a preschool teacher and as a registered behavior technician providing ABA therapy to children with autism.
When I am not working as a therapist, I enjoy exercising, listening to audiobooks, spending quality time with loved ones, or traveling and experiencing different cultures with my husband.
