Practice Philosophy
My practice centers around fostering growth, healing, and connection within the context of relationships. I believe that we are all influenced by our interactions with others, especially those within our family system. This is why it is incredibly important to understand the dynamics and complexities of these relationships. The more we understand them, the more we will be able to create lasting change. Because of my relational perspective, it is crucial that the therapeutic relationship is safe enough for the client to feel comfortable and open. My main goal in providing a safe space is so my clients can explore themselves fully, knowing there is someone next to them ready to create trust and provide compassion and safety.
Therapeutic Approach
I work from a relational perspective; it is my belief that there are multiple ways to create change. I pull from different therapeutic theories, including Bowen family systems, attachment theory, narrative therapy, and mindfulness. Individuals are the product of their environments. In order tolook for change within, we must also think about our families and our larger systems. As the therapist, I will provide a supportive and safe space for this journey, so my clients feel empowered to challenge themselves and build more healthy connections.
Specialties
Individuals
My work with individuals is supportive, exploratory, and expressive. Therapy is the perfect place to connect with yourself and your feelings. It is a space for you to learn to go within and observe aspects and patterns which may not be initially visible. Some will be easy to see while others will lie in the shadows of our unconscious. There will be some aspects for which you can be proud of, some of which may feel off, and others which may simply pass unnoticed. Therapy is a process to shine light on where you are operating from and allow you to analyze what is still left to explore. It is a safe space to learn about your inner workings and get to know how they play into our feelings and behaviors. EMDR Therapy - Empowering Trauma Recovery Acknowledging the deeply personal nature of trauma recovery, I approach my work with genuine empathy and understanding. Background
I was born in New Jersey and spent my early years in New York before moving to South Florida, where I have lived most of my life. I developed a passion for psychology and social relationships during my undergraduate studies at Florida State University, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology. Inspired by my curiosity about human connections and the human condition, I pursued a Master's degree in Couple and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. Currently, I am a doctoral student at Nova, working towards a Ph.D. in couple and family therapy. My academic journey has equipped me with valuable skills and knowledge to guide my clients towards living authentically.
In my free time, I find joy in watching my favorite movies, savoring good meals, and spending quality time with loved ones. Nature is a restorative source for me, and I make it a priority to spend time outdoors, appreciating its beauty and finding solace in its tranquility.
